Stephen Cutler

Stephen M. Cutler is of counsel at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York. Previously, he was a partner at the firm and global head of its Investigations practice group.

Steve joined Simpson Thacher after serving as a Vice Chairman at JPMorgan Chase & Co., following nine years as the company’s General Counsel and member of its Operating Committee. Earlier in his career, Steve was the Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement. Steve currently is on the board of LendingClub Corporation, an OCC-chartered bank and public company listed on the NYSE. He is also on the board of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Steve graduated from Yale College and Yale Law School. He has taught at both Yale and Columbia Law Schools.
